HEAT4COOL Sofia

Continental climate, with an average annual temperature of 10,6 °C.

The building is a two-floor multi-family 6 apartment dwelling that was completed in 1974. In 2004, a new part was added to the building. Total floor area is 564 m2. The annual final energy consumption related to the occupied apartments with a heated space of 336 m2 is 200 kWh/m2, of which 143 kWh/m2 from natural gas, 13 kWh/m2 from coal and 44 kWh/m2 from electricity. The annual heating and cooling demands are 117 kWh/m2 for space heating, 21 kWh/m2 for DHW and 58 kWh/m2 for space cooling

HEAT4COOL Chorzow

Cold climate, with yearly average 8.6°C. Building from 1902, recently retrofitted. Multi-storey house with three commercial activities on the ground floor, 12 apartments on the other floors and a total floor area of 998 m2. The annual final energy consumption is 194 kWh/m2, of which 155 kWh/m2 from natural gas, 12 kWh/m2 from coal and 27 kWh/m2 from electricity. The annual heating demands are 111 kWh/m2 for space heating and 33 kWh/m2 for DHW.

HEAT4COOL Budapest

Design and realization of a heat pump based Thermowatt system that would use communal wastewater to heat and cool buildings around the St. Stephan Square in Budapest District 4. Humid climate, annual average temperature 11.2 °C. The expected wastewater temperature is 15-20°C and the available wastewater flow is about 250 m3/hour.

HEAT4COOL Valencia

Suptropical Mediterranean climate with very mild winters and long warm to hot summers. The annual average temperature is 17.8 °C. Building from 2001. Ground floor assigned to commercial use, and 4 other floors, which are dedicated to residential use. The building has a centralized natural gas boiler and there are no installed RES for heating or electricity. The annual final energy consumption is 61 kWh/m2, of which 54 kWh/m2 from natural gas and 7 kWh/m2 from electricity.
