Over the years, the Smart Cities Marketplace has constantly added data on the low-carbon energy transition database through its Self-Reporting Tool. These data are automatically aggregated for a limited set of indicators, as visible on this website.
More detailed overviews of monitoring data, which split the data into different Smart City themes (Energy systems, ICT, mobility infrastructure, mobility vehicles, new and refurbished buildings, and Positive Energy Districts), and over the years that demonstrator projects monitored their performance, require manual analysis.
New data has been added to the visualisations, delivered by eight projects. They include the results of 25 specific project demonstrators at 15 demonstration sites over the period from 2019 to 2022. See https://smart-cities-marketplace.ec.europa.eu/projects-and-sites/data
A table summarising the results of activities in ICT and Transport shows remarkable progress in the low-carbon transition of transport and mobility. The project activities resulted in an average carbon reduction of 57%.
