Písek

The city of Písek entered the +CityxChange project without any experience with European innovation projects. The participation in the project itself was therefore a great experience for the whole team of the City of Písek and significantly influenced not only the project team itself, but also the entire municipality. Thanks to the project, data management was improved, horizontal cooperation within the municipality was improved, and effective cooperation with stakeholders was increased.

Key outcomes and achievements in Písek:

• Introduction of new tools for communication with citizens and local communities
• The first Climathon in Písek, which initiated regular and close cooperation with the community "Water and greenery in Písek"
• Citizen Engagement Week organised under the title "Hlava v Písku" where the project, sustainable development goals, and Positive Energy Districts are regularly presented
• Development of the smart Písek organisational unit with new ideas and innovations to create physical changes in the city 
• Achievement of the ISO 50001 Energy Management certification
• Preparation and improvement of new renewable energy sources (PV, Small Water Power Plant)
• Establishment of a municipal company dedicated to the development of municipal energy and the promotion of community energy.
