The City Coordinators Group (CCG) aims to gather all coordinators from the Scalable Cities Projects in order to address specific challenges and create a space for the co-design of shared approaches.
The Group has three main objectives:
-
Facilitate the knowledge sharing and knowledge exchange in partnership with the cities, Expert Group and other Task Groups.
-
Promote the networking and cooperation among the Lighthouse and Fellow cities, other similar initiatives and projects, as well as other cities interested in replication of the Scalable Cities measures.
-
Taking the advantage of the joint scale of the group, promote and lead advocacy actions at European level.
How does it work?
The CCG has a hybrid format alternating between physical and virtual gatherings with an expected frequency of 6 meetings per year.
In the period 2022 to 2024, Scalable Cities will organise an average of three City Coordinators Group meetings per year, which format reflect each of the main objectives, namely:
- Networking and knowledge-sharing meetings - physical meetings embedded in a larger events (like Joint Scalable Cities events; Barcelona Smart City Expo and World Congress, the Ceremony of the Covenant of Mayors) that will focus on promoting institutional networking among participants of the Group and external actors.
- Co-creation meetings - practical workshops to discuss new projects’ ideas, propose new partnerships, co-design common guidelines (such as common procurement, common regional approach, etc).
- Advocacy meeting - aimed to develop documents for the European Commission to outline the cities' main needs and challenges.
Why to join the City Coordinators Group?
The City Coordinators Group started as a platform to facilitate the exchange, cooperation and co-creation among Lighthouse and Fellow cities.
As the work of Scalable Cities is relevant also to other cities, we are opening up the group through an associated Observer City status.
How to join?
If your city would like to join the City Coordinators Group (CCG), ask a representative from that city to fill out and submit a short contact form. Subsequently, their email address is added to the CCG contact database, they will be given access to an online CCG Repository that stores relevant documents and contacts and they will be invited to attend the group’s meetings.
