PEDvolution demo site Schönbrunn village

The establishment and expansion of local heating networks is an integral part of SWW’s holistic concept. As an energy source, regionally produced pellets are used. The local heating network currently supplies approx. 180 households in the district. The heating centre at the entrance to the village has sufficient capacity to supply all of Schönbrunn with heat. The cogeneration unit (CHP), combined with distributed PV production provide renewable electricity and heat.

In the frame of PEDvolution: 

• Existing and new RES installations will be equipped with automated AI-based controls from the PED Energy Manager toolset, delivering automated control and optimization while integrated with local grid through Interoperability platform.
• Efficient operation of assets will allow additional customers to utilize district heating network and therefore replace their energy sources with renewables.
• Every building shall become part of the PED supporting energy generation and storage facility.
• All sources of energy flexibility and aggregation will be implemented into PED Energy Manager toolset.
