Description

Completely new district with 550 residential units for approx. 1300 inhabitants will be built, including social amenities such as a primary school.

Demo Site Expected Impact

ASCEND will be the first such project in Prague and will include the creation of a guideline for the construction of other PCEDs in local conditions. It will also test the functioning of energy communities.

Technologies

Buildings and energy

The Energy Master Plan developed by CVUT UCEEB provides a detailed analysis of the district from the city-planner’s perspective, enumeration of the stakeholders, and the energy analysis of various central heat sources with recommendations for PCED operation.

Mobility & Transport

The district will be connected to a very extensive local public transport system. This will include the construction of a bus terminal and connection to shared mobility transport.

ICT

Prague has already the Urban Data platform called Golemio. We plan to collect and analyse data from the neighbourhood on this platform, we are currently discussing the creation of Digital Twin.

Citizen engagement

To be specified.

Positive (clean) energy district

The entire PCED will be built by the City of Prague and will also remain owned by the City of Prague. This will facilitate better energy management, data collection and also make it possible to regulate rents.
