Visual of Brochure

The Smart Cities Marketplace (SCM) has released an updated edition of its brochure, "Investing in a Sustainable and Green Urban Future", introducing new content and tools to accelerate the just and green transition of Europe’s towns and cities.

Building on the foundation laid in its 2024 edition, the updated 2025 brochure retains its clear structure around three core actions — EXPLORE, SHAPE, and DEAL — while significantly enhancing the support available to local authorities, investors, and solution providers.

Among the key additions in the 2025 edition are:

  • Thematic webinars on emerging trends and practical tools used by peer cities.
  • An expanded Green Cities Wiki, now described as a comprehensive guide for fast-tracking financially viable projects.
  • New video and podcast stories, spotlighting individuals and cities driving urban sustainability.
  • Improved data visualisation tools, offering insights from over 80 sustainable urban projects.
  • Clearer pathways to technical assistance, including updated details on the 1-to-1 advisory services.
  • A sharper focus on matchmaking events and financing masterclasses, with calls for applications prominently featured.

Georg Houben of the European Commission’s DG ENER reaffirmed the platform’s mission: “The Smart Cities Marketplace is here to turn ambition into action – offering concrete pathways for cities to realise their sustainable visions.”

The updated brochure is now available. It is an essential guide for anyone looking to shape the future of sustainable urban living in Europe.
