SCIS presents at the Smart City Expo World Congress 2015

The Smart Cities Information System (SCIS) was officially presented during the Smart City Expo World Congress 2015, which was held in Barcelona, Spain on 17-19 November. The 2015 Congress brought together over 350 speakers to share knowledge, present their visions and highlight future opportunities for business and cities.

Antonio Garrido Marijuán, from the Austrian Institute of Technology, gave a presentation at the Congress, detailing the  the various SCIS work packages and the key deliverables of the project . He outlined the project’s scope , from monitoring the integration of renewable energy supply and the promotion of energy efficiency, already initiated under the CONCERTO initiative, to the development of data architectures required for the cross-section analysis of smart city lighthouse demonstration projects.

Marijuán noted that the SCIS provides information and support for replication and scalability activities on smart solutions as well as offering an active forum on the SCIS website where results can be compared. SCIS has built on the CONCERTO initiative with enhanced data collection methods and new KPIs for ICT and mobility. He stressed that common acceptance of these KPIs will assure the comparability of results through all European projects.
