eplanet visual identity

Girona, June 4, 2024 – The Smart Cities Marketplace (SCM) actively participated in the ePlanet webinar titled "Actividad de ampliación de Girona. Plan de Acción para el Clima y la Energía Sostenible (PACES), ¿qué viene después? Implementación y monitoreo." This joint event, organised with the Covenant of Mayors, aimed to guide municipalities on the implementation and monitoring of their Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plans (PACES).

During the three-hour webinar, multiple speakers addressed various aspects of climate action and sustainable energy. The session on the Smart Cities Marketplace specifically focused on the financial components. The services provided by the Smart Cities Marketplace were introduced and attendees were encouraged to submit their projects via the intake form and extended an invitation to the EURESFO event.

The agenda for the webinar included:

  • An overview of the journey from commitment to monitoring PACES.
  • Guidance on financing climate actions.
  • Exploration of successful climate adaptation practices.
  • Insights on mitigation strategies from the experience of Girona and the ePlanet platform.
  • Discussion on citizen participation and Energy Communities.

Approximately 90 participants joined the session during my presentation. Although the exact number of city representatives was not determined, the high attendance reflected significant interest in the topic.

To apply to the services of the Smart Cities Marketplace, interested cities or city consortia can send an email to matchmaking@smartcitiesmarketplace.eu stating their name, the name of their city/organisation, and their contact details, and our team will forward the link to apply.
