In a groundbreaking initiative, the city of Alkmaar invited its youngest residents to participate in urban planning through the popular video game, Minecraft Education. As part of the "Schools Reinventing Alkmaar" program, children up to 14 years old are tasked with designing a sustainable neighborhood within the virtual world of Minecraft. With its immense popularity and creative potential, Minecraft offers a unique platform for children to express their ideas and vision for their community. Students have until May 31st to submit their designs, with the best ideas set to be showcased at city hall in June. Learn more about the initiative here.
