The Smart Cities Marketplace will be featured at this year's European Urban Resilience Forum taking place from 18-20 October in Cascais, Portugal at the Nova School of Business and Economics, Cascais.

The European Urban Resilience Forum (EURESFO) is a unique exchange platform for city representatives, experts and stakeholders from local and regional institutions to discuss strategies, initiatives and actions for adapting to climate change, managing disasters and building urban resilience. The 2023 edition marks the 10th anniversary of the Forum, a symbolic moment to take stock of the European performance in resilience and to answer key questions on the present and future of climate change adaptation in Europe.

The Smart Cities Marketplace will host a session as part of the EURESFO Resilience Investment and Financing Forum (19 October 2023, 12:00 – 13:15) titled ‘Financing smart and climate-resilient solutions’ which will delve into the crucial nexus of smart cities and resilience. It will focus on the importance of finance and market engagement for promoting long-term sustainability and empowering local governments to build smart, thriving and future-ready urban environments.

The Smart Cities Marketplace will also be featured at a stand in the EURESFO Marketplace. Visitors are invited to come by and learn more about the services offered by SCM to explore, shape and finance potential climate-neutral, smart and resilient city solutions. Following the session, an open matchmaking workshop will be held at the Smart Cities Marketplace stand. The workshop will feature a presentation of matchmaking activities and examples, introduce the SCM intake form and answer any questions cities may have with preparing their smart and resilient project. This workshop is part of a series of national workshops held by the Smart Cities Marketplace.
