The Smart Cities Marketplace hosted an informative session about their Matchmaking services on 7 September 2023. The Matchmaking services provide technical, financial, legal and governance-related support at no cost to cities and other stakeholders, such as technical developers and investors interested in investing in smart and sustainable urban projects in the realms of clean energy, sustainable mobility, and digital solutions.
To benefit from the Smart Cities Marketplace Matchmaking services, interested parties must apply in response to the ongoing Call for Applications. For those seeking assistance with the application process, a comprehensive Guidance Document is available, or they may reach out to the Smart Cities Marketplace Helpdesk to ask any queries. The call for applications remains open, allowing cities and consortia to apply at their own pace. Private companies and investors are encouraged to proactively propose projects to cities and seek support.
The info session is part of the Urban Transition Challenge within the Smart City Expo World Congress Smart Cities Challenges, hosted by ACCIÓ, a division of the Catalan Government's Ministry of Enterprise and Labour. The Smart Cities Marketplace stands as an official partner in this endeavour.
Successful applicants who have completed the survey will be considered “challenge owners” and become eligible to be considered for receiving a tailored package of support services, including legal, financial, technical, and governance assistance, as well as webinar training, financing masterclasses, and peer-to-peer exchanges. The Marketplace also provides facilitated access to funding and financing through its Investor network.
Participants in the info session were introduced to the manifold opportunities offered by the Marketplace to boost their ongoing projects and discovered how to apply to the ongoing call for applications joining the Urban Transition Challenge. This online session presented a precious chance to engage directly with experts regarding involvement in the Smart Cities Marketplace.
