Through the Digital Europe Programme (DEP), the European Commission has launched a support programme to accelerate digital maturity, with a particular focus on communities that are less digitally ready for digital transformation. These services aim to foster the adoption of digital technologies, local digital twins and other digital solutions across rural and urban areas, ensuring that technology is accessible to all. This initiative supports 150 EU cities and communities through the Online Procurement Helpdesk, offering support services targeted towards the development of Local Digital Twins (LDT), including procurement support materials consistent with European interoperability standards.
Additionally, the EC is developing the MIMs Plus Compliance and Certification network and scheme, a framework for testing and certifying solutions according to European interoperability standards to foster a robust LDT marketplace with MIMs Plus-certified solutions.
