A strategic and technical consultancy specializing in digitalising cities, regions and organisations. ZDE has consulted many German Smart Cities and Smart Regions, including several from the "Smart Cities Made in Germany" funding programme. The team of experts focuses on creative, pragmatic and sustainable solutions that are readily usable for relevant target groups. ZDE also has its own academy, where digitalization knowledge is transferred to practitioners from different areas of the economy and administration. European innovation projects from funding programmes such as Horizon Europe, Interreg and Erasmus+ are also part of ZDE's activities.
ZDE owns a Smart City Campus and a Climate Forest on its premises in Westhausen, Baden-Württemberg. Here, principles such as IoT, sensor networks, data-based processes and Smart City are made tangible. The team also has experience in agile piloting methods, citizen science and living labs for a multitude of use cases. Finally, communication strategies, stakeholder management and engagement formats are part of ZDE's portfolio.
