The support service for citizen-led renovation is proud to announce the four winners of the open call for support to set up renovation services.
The support service for Citizen-led renovation, launched in January 2023, is an EU initiative aiming to empower energy communities to put citizens in the driver’s seat for energy-saving renovation projects. Following an open call running between 24 April and 31 May 2023, four pilot energy communities were selected to be assisted in strengthening community building and setting up or replicating programmes for energy renovations of buildings, including insulation, new technical systems and installing renewables: Energent in Belgium, Izgrei in Bulgaria, Connecting Cabra in Ireland and Coopernico in Portugal. The initiative aims at helping the four pilot projects overcome financial, legal, technical and informational barriers and deliver future-proof residential buildings.
To ensure effective and efficient communication and dissemination of the learnings of the initiative, a new homepage will be launched today, 20 July 2023. The homepage will gather insight into the pilot’s activities and insights and allow replication. It will also soon provide the link to an exchange platform as well as a network of relevant projects and initiatives in the field of energy communities and energy-saving renovation.
