Director-General Dominique Ristori has just recently announced the launch of the European Technology and Innovation Platform (ETIP) on batteries. It will serve as the R&I stream of the Battery Alliance.
The announcement took place in the context of 2019 Industry Days, during a well-attended session dedicated to the European Battery Alliance.
The new platform will be supported by the KIC InnoEnergy-led team (including also EERA and EASE) which will guarantee a close link with the Battery Alliance and the strong presence of industrial players.
The ETIP will ensure one-stop access to all Commission services directly or indirectly dealing with batteries research and innovation. Stronger link with national and regional initiatives will also be worked on.
This initiative is coming from DG ENER whilst recognising that the new Platform is a collective effort and the result of co-creation by the whole Commission.
