The Marketplace of the EIP-SCC is the home for smart city projects, bringing together project promoters from cities, innovative solutions from the industry and the financial institutions.
We are in the run-up to this year's General Assembly in Sofia on the 27 to 28 June. We have been working with several project promoters from cities and industry and the Marketplace partners from financial institutions to organise matchmaking sessions enabling deals for cities.
The Marketplace is about concrete projects happening in cities, as much as it is about exploring and shaping the urban projects of tomorrow. A number of outreach activities have been organised by the Marketplace around Sustainable Urban Mobility Solutions.
The 'Manifesto of Intent' to study and evaluate the opportunity of integrating 'Drone Taxi' solutions to the ground mobility network was born from a webinar about Urban Air Mobility.
Today, we witnessed the official signing of the manifesto by the Canton of Geneva. We expect this to be a first step in the coming-together of various actors to form a demonstrator network within the Marketplace, and triggering investments in Urban Air Mobility across Europe. We welcome the Canton of Geneva to the EIP-SCC Marketplace and to the Initiative of Urban Air Mobility (UAM).
Sustainable Urban Mobility will be one of the thematic 'Shaping' discussions during our General Assembly.
