Today the European Commission launched the Intelligent Cities Challenge as the successor to the Digital Cities Challenge.
Building on the Digital Cities Challenge, which saw 41 cities create a vision, strategy and roadmap for their digital transformation, the Intelligent Cities Challenge will guide cities to transform their digital policy to create more inclusive and sustainable urban environments.
With a bigger network of 100 cities, more expert advisors, more events and a host of digital tools, the Commission is scaling up the programme to focus on implementation of technological transformation strategies to help cities become greener, more social and smarter.
