The Walloon Export Agency (Agence Wallonne à l'Exportation) and Wallonie-Bruxelles International (WBI), the agency that deals with international relations for the Wallonia and Brussels regions, are organising an exploratory Smart Cities mission to France.
A large delegation from Smart Cities in Wallonia travelled to Strasbourg and Issy-les-Moulineaux in October and will continue their mission with trips to Bordeaux and Nantes in November, to discover the initiatives put in place in these cities and to exchange best practice and forge partnerships.
This mission is aimed at a tripartite audience in Wallonia, namely - the business community, the research community and local authorities, with the participation of five cities: Charleroi, Namur, Mons, Liège and Tournai.
As Wallonia’s leading trading partner, France, with which many collaborations exist, was chosen for this first exploratory mission because of the expertise it has developed in the field of Smart Cities.
