On 8 July 2015, the European Parliament adopted a new Communication ‘Green Employment Initiative: tapping into the job creation potential in the green economy’. The Communication stresses the important role played by local and regional authorities in education, infrastructure, supporting local businesses and creating stable employment, within the context of the transition to a greener economy.
