Scalable Cities Secretariat Announces the 11th Call for Visitor Cities in Amsterdam

Scalable Cities Secretariat is pleased to announce that the 11th Call for Visitor Cities is now open.

The city of Amsterdam will host this site visit on March 25-27, 2025, during the 7th ATELIER Fellow Cities Event. This visit presents a valuable opportunity for cities to explore innovative approaches to Positive Energy Districts (PEDs), energy communities, and heat strategies.

Key Highlights

Participants will:

  • Learn about the development and implementation of PEDs in ATELIER cities
  • Gain insights into establishing energy communities and citizen-driven energy solutions
  • Visit demonstration areas in REPUBLICA and POPPIES, showcasing sustainable urban innovations
  • Engage in direct exchanges with Amsterdam’s representatives and ATELIER experts
  • Explore best practices, lessons learned, and replication strategies
  • Get updates on ATELIER’s internal evaluation results and future strategies
  • Discuss the bold city visions for 2050 from Lighthouse and Fellow cities
  • Learn about new heat technologies and conduct energy calculations using the BEST table
  • Participate in Innovation Ateliers to gain deeper insights into governance models

Who Can Apply?

This call is open to cities from the 20 Smart Cities and Communities projects funded under Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe, as well as other cities interested in sustainable urban development.

How to Apply

Interested cities can apply by visiting the Scalable Cities website, where they will find the Terms of Reference and the Application Form. Applications must be submitted via the EU Survey Application Platform.

The deadline for submitting applications is March 9, 2025, at 12:00 CET.
