Eurisy and ICLEI were at the Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona, officially presenting the new Geospatial Tools for Cities Focus Group of the Smart Cities Marketplace!
The Focus group provides a platform for city officials, decision-makers, industries, investors, researchers, and other smart cities stakeholders to collaborate, prioritize needs, and leverage geospatial data to create accessible and innovative solutions for sustainable urban development.
At the Smart City Expo World Congress, the session explored the benefits of space solutions for urban environments, sparking curiosity about the numerous applications of space data and technologies, from urban planning to disaster management.
The event highlighted the activities and objectives planned for the Focus group and the main topics that will be explored, from the role of space technologies to supporting climate change adaptation and mitigation in cities, the prevention and recovery from disasters and emergencies, innovation procurement initiatives, and new opportunities.
The presentation was a wonderful opportunity to connect with a diverse audience and share the Focus group's goals and aspirations, emphasising the initiative’s spirit of creating a shared space for connections, dialogue, and innovation.
