EU Missions Youth Engagement Session: Mission Cities Registration
Register for the EU Missions Youth Engagement Session: Mission Cities and have your say on how the European Commission is acting to support 100 European cities in their systemic transformation to become climate-neutral by 2030.
The EU missions are a commitment to solve major societal challenges like fighting cancer, adapting to climate change, living in greener cities, ensuring soil health and food, and protecting our oceans.
This particular session will be discussing on how each of us can contribute to achieve climate-neutrality in cities by 2030.
Cities occupy 3% of the planet’s landmass but consume over 65% of the world’s energy and account for more than 70% of the global CO2 emissions.
More than half of the world’s population now lives in urban areas. This is expected to reach 80% by 2050.
In order to achieve climate neutrality, it is important both to work towards systemic change and to create urban environments which are creating well-being and equal opportunities to all. This is why we need a strong engagement from the citizens.
So how can we act? What are the greatest challenges?
