The Horizon Europe BUILDSPACE project has been welcomed to the Smart Cities Marketplace, reinforcing its mission to drive data-driven sustainability in urban environments. BUILDSPACE equips stakeholders with cutting-edge tools to monitor building energy performance and enhance city resilience against climate change, focusing on urban heat and flood risks.
By integrating terrestrial data from IoT platforms and BIM solutions with aerial thermal imaging from drones and satellite data from EGNSS and Copernicus, BUILDSPACE delivers innovative services for informed decision-making. Its core platform facilitates high-fidelity digital twins at the building level and advanced analytics at the city scale.
The project’s five decision support tools will be tested across four EU countries—Poland, Latvia, Greece, and Slovenia—helping cities improve energy efficiency and climate adaptation strategies. With BUILDSPACE now part of the Smart Cities Marketplace, the initiative takes a significant step towards smarter, more sustainable urban futures.
