The Covenant of Companies is a newly launched European Commission (DG ENER) pilot initiative to encourage and support companies to step up their contribution to a clean energy transition and related climate objectives as set out in the European Green Deal.
Businesses have a fundamental responsibility in driving the energy transition and climate action. The Covenant of Companies aims to help decarbonise the business sector, in particular, SMEs by offering them free technical assistance and a recognition scheme.
