The Support service for Citizen‑led renovation has released two new practical guides designed to help municipalities, energy communities, and local renovation initiatives communicate more effectively with citizens and stakeholders. Developed to support communities at different stages of their journey, the guides provide clear, accessible frameworks that anyone can apply—regardless of their communication experience.
The first guide, “How to Storytelling – A Guide for Energy Communities & Renovation Initiatives,” offers a hands‑on introduction to crafting compelling narratives that inspire citizen engagement. It explains how to translate technical concepts into relatable messages, develop a powerful story arc, and use personal experiences to build trust and strengthen community involvement. The guide is intended to help local actors make their work more visible, human, and motivating for residents.
The second publication, “How to Communication Strategy,” walks users through the essential steps of building a coherent and effective communication plan. It covers goal‑setting, audience analysis, channel selection, message development, and practical planning tools that municipalities and community groups can apply immediately. By providing structure and clarity, the guide supports local teams in communicating consistently, reaching the right audiences, and shaping a long‑term engagement strategy.
Both guides are part of CLR’s ongoing effort to empower local authorities and community groups with practical, user‑friendly resources that strengthen participation and accelerate citizen‑driven renovation and energy initiatives across Europe. They complement CLR’s broader support offer, including peer‑to‑peer exchanges, webinars, and tailored consulting.
The publications are now available for download on the Citizen‑Led Renovation website:
