SCEWC: From Energy to Mobility

SCEWC Session

This session brought together four leading European initiatives, Smart Cities Marketplace, CIVITAS, Driving Urban Transitions Partnership, and EIT Urban Mobility, to explore how collaborative, citizen-focused approaches can accelerate the transition toward climate-neutral cities. The speakers presented mobility projects, including REallocate (CIVITAS), RAPTOR (EIT Urban Mobility), and the Innovation Portfolio (Driving Urban Transitions). The discussion examined how integrated mobility solutions can support the 15-minute city model, enhance urban accessibility, and contribute to the broader EU Mission for 100 Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities by 2030

Panellists and audience members engaged in a dialogue around sustaining impact beyond project implementation, focusing on scaling up, replicability, and long-term funding opportunities. Cities in attendance gained valuable insights into citizen-centric co-creation methods to build public acceptance and policy recommendations to foster enabling regulatory environments. The key takeaway was clear: promoting synergies between European initiatives is essential to ensure they complement each other, maximise collective impact, and deliver greater value to cities and citizens alike.
