EU-WESTERN BALKANS: SMART CITIES ECONOMIC FORUM

Smart Cities Economic Forum will bring together the EU and Western Balkans officials and experts to discuss opportunities for broadening of the economic cooperation and advancing the integration processes beyond 2022.

The aim of the Economic Forum is to promote smart and sustainable development of cities in the context of green and digital transition defined in the Economic and Investment Plan for Western Balkans adopted by the European Commission in 2020.

The Conference is open to the delegations from Western Balkan region, including representatives from governments and municipalities, EU institutions’ officials, representatives of financial institutions, international organizations, participants from Czech municipalities and business sector.

The event is organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic and other participating partners (Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, Ministry for Regional Development of the Czech Republic, EU Covenant of Mayors, Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic, CzechTrade).

 

Field Trips to Cities and Companies around the Czech Republic

Part of the program will be dedicated to the transfer of know-how among experts on institutional and business level with focus on multiple topics related to sustainable and smart urban development. Delegations from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo*, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia consisting of around 100 representatives from selected municipalities will get an opportunity to visit relevant examples of technical solutions in cities around the Czech Republic to share experiences.
