On the 15th June 2017, the Citizen Focus Action Cluster organised a webinar aiming at presenting success stories of Participatory Budgeting projects implemented in Smart Cities as well as explaining projectual phases of PB.
After a brief introduction, made by Roberta Maio (PwC Italy) and Maria Sangiuliano (Smart Venice) on the webinar structure, the AC initiatives and future events, the four guest speakers followed with their presentations.
Mr. Secchi, Fellow Researcher at the Center for social studies, presented the EMPATIA projects;
Mr. Brodach, responsible for participatory budgeting services at the City of Paris, talked about the initiatives running in Paris, including resources allocation and stages of the PB process;
Ms.Bastiaensen, Citizen Participation Officer at the City of Antwerp, described the PB processes in the city providing practical examples of approved projects;
Mr. Nordh,Senior Officer at SALAR, presented three Participatory Budgeting examples in Sweden (with pupils, a new city park creation and with small villages).
